Finally saved up enough money for a new camera and got the latest Sony A7 IV
Decided it was finally time for a mirrorless upgrade and some sweet 4K footage.
Here's a quick camera test at Pasir Ris Park since I needed to get more shots of mudflats for the thesis anyway:
Can you tell which clips are from the Sony A7 IV and which are from the school's Canon 90D? 👀 Needless to say, I think we can all agree it was a worthy investment.
Similarly worth investing in is the protection of wetland areas!
Not only are they important habitats for these animals, but they also prevent soil erosion, help clean our waterways, and store an estimated 20-30% of the world's carbon. In Singapore, they act as important pit stops for migratory birds too.
Unfortunately, with land reclamation and embankment, we're seeing a rapid decline of such habitats. The United Nations estimated that 85% of the wetlands existent in 1700 were gone by 2000. That rate has only been increasing.
This is just one of the reasons why my team and I have been looking at making a short documentary on the Lorong Halus Wetlands.
Follow the development at #TheLorongHalusProject.
